Firm Overview
Jay White, AIA, NCARB opened his own firm in June, 2014 after spending eight years as a Senior Architect with Robert Carl Williams Associates, which he joined upon his return to Vermont after a six year period working in
Prague, Czech Republic.
In Prague, Jay worked as a corporate architect for two separate developers, mostly focused on adaptive use of historic buildings into luxury hotels and apartments. The primary project for both developers was a hotel to be operated by Marriott’s Ritz-Carlton brand consisting of ten historic buildings near Prague’s Old Town Square. He also designed an apartment building in an historic structure adapted for re-use in 2007.
Prior to that, he was a principal at The Burley Partnership in Waitsfield, Vermont, where he worked for twenty years before moving to Prague.
Throughout his career, Jay has focused on providing top-quality service to clients, usually with straight-forward traditional designs. He believes architecture’s primary role is to solve clients’ building needs in a functional, affordable way. He also assists clients with grant applications, and historic tax credit certifications.
As a one-person firm, clients enjoy working with an experienced principal at all levels of the project. Jay hires consulting engineers related to HVAC, plumbing, electrical and structural design when necessary. RX3D Studios prepares the photographic quality renderings you find in this web site.
Almost all work is obtained by word-of-mouth and client referrals. References from clients on all projects included in this web site can be made available.
All work is fully insured with general and professional liability insurance.
We look forward to working with you, too. Satisfaction is guaranteed.
